Artist statement
My work explores emotional landscapes rather than literal ones. Using layered acrylic, scraping, erasure, and gesture, I build surfaces that hold both accumulation and absence. I am interested in moments where clarity dissolves and memory, feeling, and place hold the space.
The paintings are intuitive and process-driven. Marks are added, obscured, and sometimes partially undone, allowing earlier decisions to remain visible beneath the surface. This tension between control and surrender mirrors the way we carry experience: fragments persist even as we move forward.
Color functions as both atmosphere and structure with muted fields interrupted by heat, shadow, or rupture. I want the viewer to sense something familiar but unnamed, a feeling that sits just below language. These works are not narratives but spaces to pause, project, and sit with ambiguity.
